Chinese immigrants first came to America thru San Francisco during the gold rush. Nearly all of Asian refugees were from one part of the country: the rural districts of Toishan outside of the city of Guangdong (then known as Canton; hence, Cantonese food). a great percentage of them were men

                                                                                   St. Paul Sandwich

The St. Paul sandwich was invented by Steven Yuen at Park Chop Suey in Lafayette Square, a neighborhood near downtown St. Louis; Yuen named the sandwich after his hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota. 1321 Chouteau Ave, St. Louis, MO 63103    (314) 436-2248  Park Chop Suey is South of the St, Louis Blues Savvis Center, drive past the Metrolink Station and go over the overpass and its next to BP Gas Station.

The St. Paul also has a stark resemblance to the Massachusetts inspired chow mein sandwich, the chow mein sandwich originated in New England in the 1930s or 1940s, the sandwich combines fried chow mein noodles that are covered in brown gravy and served on a hamburger bun.

Today, according to the Chinese American Restaurant Association, there are over 45,000 Chinese restaurants currently in operation across the United States. This number is greater than all the McDonald's, KFCs, Pizza Huts, Taco Bells and Wendy's combined. If you ever wondered why, there are little to no Chinese Commercials, it's Because a good Chinese restaurant will have all the business it wants just form word of mouth. It doesn't need to waste money on advertising. With the exception of the St.Louis Chinese food franchise "The Rice House" who has diverse hiring practices, and advertises and has coupon specials for Urban style dark brown rice and dark gravy.

Why you should avoid reheating rice?

The possibility to reheat rice exist, but certain people must take precautions and measurements to ensure rice is safe to consume. Rice is more problematic than most leftover foods as rice contains bacteria called Bacillus cereus, the bacteria has the ability survive certain cooking processes . This bacterium as known as "Bacillus cereus" causes food poisoning from reheated or cooked rice.
